The bike trail to Nida. I stopped off at this bird hide for a wee break, it's right on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon and most of the area is a nature reserve.
Though I'm not quite sure if it's a squirrel, a beaver or what. I presume that's lunch tied to the stick over its shoulder!?!
A house by the Lagoon.
From the bike trail, Karvaiciy Dune.
What a cracking place to bike ride, on the way into Nida.
Someone keen on their gardening!
Vytautas Kernagis (1951-2008) Actor, poet, musician and a prime mover of the Curonian Festival which starts the summer season in Nida.
Some wee hooses in the village.
Boat trips onto the Lagoon.
The Sailing Club Marina.
Weather vanes; by law each fishing boat had to have an individual marker with the colours denoting which village they were from.
They became an art form in their own right and miniatures are a large part of the souvenir trade.
Looking south towards Kaliningrad (Russia).
The communal kitchen. I'm just chopping veg for tea then a bit of blog catching up and bed.
One more day in Nida then a long run to Kaliningrad.
