May Day and some sunshine!

Bags packed and breakfasted, ready to roll 0945.  The book says "Nice cycle track to Klaipeda"  Time to go and check it out!

The first few kilometres are on a track through the Botanical Park, nice hard packed gravel through the trees next to the dunes

It must be Spring but it's still far from tee shirt weather!  The track varied from trees close on each side to wide open with the odd sighting of the sea

Nice riding on smooth asphalt.  There was a short section of about 4 km on a reasonably quiet piece of road and then back onto dedicated cycle track.

Klaipeda is the third largest city in Lithuania, much of it destroyed during WW2 but thankfully some parts of the old town still remain

This guy seems to stand guard over Tiltu street which is a narrow alley full of eateries, pubs and coffee houses

The said street and just about time for an evening meal

The dish in the foil parcel was fish coated with vegetables and a cheese sauce, along with mash and salad.  The beer was just to tide me over while the food was prepared.

Back to the Hostel and bed.
