Denmark tre

Monday 20th May.  Hvide Sande - Torsminde.
Well, it started out nice.  A pleasant hour or so through dunes past Fyrmarken (Lighthouse) and on to Sandervig.  1030, coffee stop and test to destruction of another of those pastry things the Danes make.  Job done!
Another ten minutes on the road and the rains started!  Jacket, over trousers, even over shoes.  Head down and keep pedaling!!
It had cleared enough to strip the waterproofs off by 1400, a quick bite and press on North (There is a detour to Ringkobing, but wet and 17k extra!?!).  A nice bit of single track through the last bit of forest, then open country to Torsminde CampSite.  59.5k  1270.5

Tuesday 21st May.  Torsminde Camp Site - Fjaltring Danhostel (Smallest one they have).
Peering out of the tent, the sky light, slightly overcast with thin high cloud, hope it should burn away; the feathered type dawn chorus was revving up, time to make a move.
The weather forecast in the camp reception had given 40% chance of rain, but the wind direction arrows were pointing from the north, with a touch of west and speed had increased to 4-5mtrs per second.
On this narrow strip of land between Bovling Fjord and the North Sea, though the latter was hidden by tall dunes, there is little option but for the cycle route to follow the road.  Nearing Fjaltring the route moves in land slightly becoming a gravel track, though it would have been possible to have stayed on the tarmac road surface for the last kilometer or so, it was nice to get away from what little traffic there was.
I'd decided to call in at the Danhostel on the off chance of a bed, on arrival the cleaners seemed to be having a field day, mops, buckets and cloths were seeing some heavy use!  I was told later it was 'Spring Clean', and yes there was a bed, in fact there was only four of us in the place that night.  A couple travelling by car who kept themselves to themselves, ate out that evening, were back after I'd gone to bed and hadn't surfaced by the time I was off the following morning.  That left Winfried, a very tall, lean guy from Hagen, Germany who was cycling from home to Alborg to meet up with his son and together they would go to Skagen.
After calling at the hostel and confirming that I had a bed I was given a key to the bike shed and told I could leave my stuff, and that if I wanted a coffee I could get one at the Spar shop about 100m up the road, but not to come back to check in until at least 1530.
One thing I had noted in the area was that the church, built 1100, was unusual in that a number of graves had white fences around them, according to my guide book as protection from the westerlies.
